Decluttering and donating gently used items just got easier. Now you can schedule an Uber courier to pick up your unwanted items and deliver to the nearest Goodwill donation center. After months of collaboration here at the lab with Goodwill Industries and Uber Direct, we’re pleased to announce the launch of Goodwill – Delivered with Uber.
Idea Lab Digital’s UX design team worked tirelessly with programming partner, New Media Design to develop a custom web application that provides a convenient new service for the region. According to Goodwill President & CEO Mark B. Boyd, this program is a testament to the power of community-focused innovation. “Together with Uber, we are making it even easier to give back, ensuring that donations go directly into supporting meaningful programs that empower and strengthen local individuals and communities.”
Kiran Vinta, General Manager of Uber Direct for the US and Canada said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey & Philadelphia to solve the last-mile donation challenge. Putting Uber Direct to work in connecting donations with the nearest Goodwill is a novel use of our logistics network.”
If you build it, they will come, right? Goodwill and Uber are certainly well known, but relying solely upon on-site SEO and organic search was not the strategy here. ILD’s creative team crafted, produced and launched a social ad campaign featuring a 30-second motion graphics spot. Utilizing Facebook and Instagram Reels, and TikTok’s advertising platform, this animated ad informs prospective donors about the convenient service and how it works through clean, minimalistic visual communication.
